The Brigham Medicine Update & MOC Preparation Course - 2016 Enduring Materials
Monday, April 4, 2016 – Friday, December 16, 2016
The Brigham Medicine Update & MOC Preparation Online year-long program aims to provide comprehensive review of internal medicine and its sub-specialties, targeted for those preparing for ABIM internal medical board and MOC recertification examinations. The aim of this program is to provide flexible learning opportunities to allow participants to prepare for re-certification according to their own timelines.
Course materials will become available on a rolling schedule and will remain available for study throughout the duration of the year-long online course. Core recorded lectures, delivered by Harvard faculty, will review internal medicine and its subspecialties and provide updates on recent developments within each area. Practice questions will be provided for each section of material covered. Recorded in-depth reviews of the practice question sets will also be available for those who want more detail in regards to each correct answer. Finally, lectures recorded from the Brigham Medicine Update and MOC preparation course which took place in Boston at the end of February will also be available as an adjunct for additional review. This comprehensive internal medicine review course is structured to provide learning and self-assessment opportunities across internal medicine and its full range of subspecialties.
Throughout the program, emphasis will be made on the practical application of physiological principles to the understanding and management of clinical problems. The professional gap(s) this course is designed to address are lack of knowledge and/or competence related to care of patients with acute and chronic medical illnesses (such as diabetes management, acute and chronic hepatitis, COPD and asthma, for example), changing guidelines and standards of care, and newer therapeutic strategies.
