Overview

This course will explore how meditation can support emotional well-being and patient care. Discussions will focus on identifying key mechanisms of action; using meditation to improve behavior and cultivate positive mind states; describing the benefits and limitations of its application in psychotherapy; teaching techniques to clients; and integrating mindfulness and meditation into clinical work. Multiple learning formats will be used including didactic presentations, case discussions, and Q & A. This course is intended for all mental health practitioners and others interested in the principles, practices, and techniques of meditation.
